Sorry to hear that, such a shame after all the work you've done on the car, but you are right, it's all about priorities. Hopefully the car finds a good home.
Don't be a stranger on the forum (ownership is not a prerequisite ) and maybe you'll have another Morris sometime in the future.
Thanks chaps. I'll miss it, and if I'd bought one privately that had been regularly driven then it might have been a different story. Anyway, we'll see - got to sell it yet!

In a few years time, your current ten year old may well be asking "Dad, what happened to that lovely car that we used to have, why on earth did you sell it?". Could you not get the ten year old to work on the car with you? Sometimes, small hands can come in very helpful fpr reaching in awkward places

That's actually a good idea, not only do you get to keep the car and spend more time with said child but you also encourage the next generation of enthusiasts.

That is a very good idea, thank you. I did discuss this with Toby today but unless I make him do it he's not up for it! I think that pre-device and pre-internet times were very different as I clearly remember working on a motorbike with my Dad! I'm sure I could engage him though, seriously.
Unfortunately the reality is that I bought a Moggy that hadn't been used for 4 years and with no history. I know. I'm now using it as my daily driver and things are springing leaks left right and centre. It's not selling anyway so far so I'll likely resolve the current "pile" of issues overwhelming me, and be much happier.
Hi Philip i feel for you i am in exactly the same situation bought my traveller that hadn't been used for years been on my back for 3 months pistons out deglaze bores new rings rebuilt the head new drums shoes and cylinders all round got to do the timing chain next then what ever else crops up never ending..
I was fortunate i didn't have to sell my Honda and probably will keep it for another 6 months until I've sorted the traveller .
Can't see me being with out the traveller now put too much time into it.
Could i make a suggestion keep the traveller and buy a cheap runabout just till you get ontop of the jobs on your traveller

Cheers Alan, that's a great suggestion and I have thought about doing that.
You've had an even tougher time than me! You actually made me feel blessed somehow! I've done the woodwork I suppose and that was my biggest job, but I wouldn't want to be doing the sort of engine work that you've had to.
The things we do for these classic cars eh. They are lovely, but they're still just cars when all is said and done.
