auto gearbox conversion
Does anyone have a copy of a PDF file they can send me of the Owen Burton manual that includes the details of converting to auto gearbox. My good friend has just lost a leg and we need to convert his Minor convertible to auto.

Many thanks, I was hoping to get a PDF but I guess a book will suffice.

Re: auto gearbox conversion
Just a few header points from the Marina to Minor booklet to consider before you go ahead.
You need a type 65 auto gearbox.
You need a special rear engine plate Pt No: OWN-105- Auto. I am not aware that this is available anymore.
The prop-shaft will have to be lengthened by about 1.5".
Fitting of the torque convertor is not straightforward.
A second dowel needs to be fitted to the crankshaft rear flange.
An adapter needs to be made up (drawing with sizes is in the booklet).
Must use a pre-engaged starter from a 1800cc Marina.
The engine has to be moved forward about 1.5" to allow the bell housing clear the rack.
Owen Burton makes the point that it would be better to purchase a complete 1300cc Auto Marina as you will then have the majority of parts required.
The instructions for fitting the Auto box are comprehensive but there are some areas where your judgement and expertise has to be used.
Good luck.

It shows the rear engine plate OWEN105 but not the auto rear engine plate OWEN105-A

Here is a Marina 1275cc auto for sale
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175397947892 ... R9Dqh4zdYA
This would by the look and description supply the majority of parts required to convert the Minor to auto box mode.
