I’ve got a 63 saloon that has one of the rod boot stays, however I don’t know which is the correct holder for it.
I have seen the rubber gripper variety and the metal clip variety, but I don’t know which one is right, anyone care up help?

Re: Boot lid stay holder
My 1963 has the rubber type. It's an early 1098 version

Re: Boot lid stay holder
If the bootlid has the rectangular hole for the rubber retainer, then that is what it should have. I think that type was used from about 1959 anyway?
Prior to that they used a metal clip held by 2 self tapping screws. My 1958 car has this.

Re: Boot lid stay holder
I recall my dad's 62 had a metal clip. My 63vwas only a few months apart but it had a rubber clip. I have no reason to think its not original in both cases
