Co2 emissions g/km 1098cc engine

Post by PeterWebb »

Hi
Can anyone help with A series engine Co2 emissions?
To cut a 4 year story down to a sentence. :-(
The DVLA have judged my Convertible as void.
I have to get it re-registered. It falls under the 'Rebuild' category and will be plated with a "Q" plate which is non-transferable.
Its class is no longer Historic but PLC and it is taxed against a scale of Co2 emissions.
I'm advised by the DVLA that the tax is £180, which according to the scale means that it was putting out 141 to 150g/km. Does that sound right?

Once the dust settles, I will be writing up the 4 year story as a salutary tale about the effort needed to sort issues with DLVA and how in the doing of it you loose £8k in the process. It is particularly galling that the process the DVLA seem constrained to follow is to fulfil the requirements of the EU. Breath...calm....breath.....exhale!

Many thanks , Peter

The laws from the EU are still here.

As for the CO2 figures, sounds low, so I would go for it.

Certified Co2 emissions are measured to a prescribed drive cycle (varies by year) in a very expensive test cell (upwards of 5 million £) to get it measured and certified would cost at least 10,000 pounds. What they have given you sounds about right I would go with it.

Many thanks, nice to know the DVLA have got that bit right.
The issue of a Q number wrangles.
While it does I'll persist in my efforts to get an age related plate.
Thanks again.
