My own fault for not consulting her before purchasing the Austin! So, I can’t quite believe I’m advertising ‘Vincent’, but here we go…1957 Minor 1000, four door saloon. Fully restored, excellent rust free example featuring re-built engine and brand new reconditioned gearbox and clutch.
He underwent a major bare metal restoration just over six years ago with all new heritage wings, chassis legs, floor petrol tank etc. I have photographic evidence of the work carried out. Garaged since resto.
Known as “Vincent”, he starts and drives very well. He retains his original working semaphore trafficators, which have been upgraded to flash when signalling.
Within the last couple of months he has had a full brake and suspension overhaul, new front wheel bearings, a replacement wheel hub, a new clutch kit and has been fitted with a fully reconditioned (ESM) gearbox - too many new parts to list but I have receipts for everything. I also had all suspension bushes replaced with poly.
He was fully serviced/greased only a couple of hundred miles ago, including engine, gearbox, diff oil and radiator coolant.
All parts I have used are of good quality. I have used genuine, NOS and UK made parts where possible.
The interior and headlining are in great condition. There is one small tear in the base of the drivers seat, however there is new vinyl to go with him to have it re-upholstered if you wish.
I have an extensive pile of receipts for work carried out, plus details of all previous owners and his restoration about six years ago.
‘Vincent’ is known to the NE Scottish Branch of the Morris Minor Owner’s Club.
A very reluctant sale of an excellent and much loved little car that I was hoping to keep for many years. A good home wanted.
