322 UXG
Does a member own 322 UXG? Its a 1963 white 4 door and my late father used to own it. I can provide the new owner with some details on its history if he or she would like it..

Re: 322 UXG
Yes, it's my son's, though at the moment I'm the one on the v5 as we had trouble with getting an insurance renewal. We bought it in late 2023 in a bit of a hurry, (needed a car quick), and paid a dealer way too much for it. But it has been in constant use ever since. Currently up on axle stands as we had pretty much total brake failure. Should be finished by next week though, having to work outside on a gravel drive!
Body is rough, will need extensive welding very soon. Bought a passenger side floorpan as it had turned into a Flintstone's job.
We did get a wad of paperwork and photos with it, I believe it was restored a number of years ago, and possibly not the original reg number?
It is now residing in Woking, Surrey.
I also own a van which we have a new chassis for, and are planning on getting back on the road this year.

What a small world isn't it. Amazing how long some Morris Minors have lasted when many didn't make 10 years!
Let's hope the 2 of you can make contact and share some stories.
You're right. The registration will not be original to the car. It is a later "age related" series.

This is nice to see. So often there is no response to messages like this and we have to assume that the car has long gone.

Indeed it is great to see a positive outcome from a ''A bit of long shot but does anyone happen to know the whereabouts of......'' type of post.
I will declare a further interest here too, as if the '1963' reference relates to its date of manufacture and not just when it was first registered, it's almost certainly a so-called Dual Personality Minor. It could still be a DPM if it left the production line after Sept '62.
As I have posted on here a few times, I am co-registrar of the Dual Personality Register so we are trying to record as many surviving Minors made between Sept '62 and Oct '64. There's a F/b group https://www.facebook.com/groups/dualper ... rrisminors or a website https://www.dualpersonalitymorrisminors.co.uk which will provide a lot more information. I am also happy to be PM'd if any more information is required......by anyone who thinks they may have a DP Minor. It can be a saloon, traveller, convertible, LCV, modified or not. even roadworthy or not. All it has to do, is still exist!
Another addition to the register would be very welcome.

Re: 322 UXG
Wow, never knew that there was such a thing as a DPM!
Just checked the VIN and details on your website. It is definitely a phase 1 De-Luxe. Am literally just off to bed, but will message you on this further, many thanks, kind regards, Tony.

Great stuff. The original speculative post gets better and better, eh?Just checked the VIN and details on your website. It is definitely a phase 1 De-Luxe.

You'll have seen that I've approved your application to join the Dual Personality Minors F/book group. When you get chance, please submit a completed registration application form and I'll get get your son's Moggy on the register. If you want one, I'll also send you an exclusive windscreen sticker --- all for free, incl. postage.

I’m a bit reluctant to ask but can you explain what constitutes a Dual Personality Minor, the use of the term seems to have appeared out of the blue here recently.

I think dual personality sounds a bit better than mongrel.

1970 Morris Minor 1098
1970 Morris Minor 1098
Re: 322 UXG
Thanks, it appears to be, basically, cars built during the models change over period, using some later parts on the outgoing cars.

I am now in contact with Andy, who restored the car with his late father. He kindly gave me some great history of the vehicle too.

Re: 322 UXG
As rocco has directed you, the DPM website tells you all you need to know. It is indeed a register to record as many surviving Minors as possible made between Sep '62 and Oct '64. Since we reconstituted the register just over a year ago, there have been a couple of small features in Minor Matters and I had a letter published in the Nov/Dec issue to help promote it a bit more.I’m a bit reluctant to ask but can you explain what constitutes a Dual Personality Minor, the use of the term seems to have appeared out of the blue here recently.
I even had a letter published in Classics World magazine in the Jan '25 issue to correct something that the editor, Simon Galsworthy, wrote about this particular genre of Minors. Simon did share my view however that, for many owners, DP Minors have the advantage of the 1098cc engine and 8'' front drums but yet retain the quaintness and old-world charm of the outgoing models, such as the banjo steering wheel, painted dash, pull starter etc.
Dual Personality Minors are also sometimes referred to as 'split personality' or 'transitional' Minors......but they're all the same! In short, they've got more bits 'n bobs than the outgoing models but not yet fully equipped with was to become the final iteration of the Minor, hence the 'dual personality' reference - sort of neither one thing nor the other.
