I would like to ask a question regarding tiny metal shavings on the small plastic filter, inside the intake of my petrol pump on my 1971 minor 1000, I don't know if this is normal or not, has anyone seen this before and what exactly makes this happen?
Kind Regards
Billy

Re: small metal shavings on plastic filter fuel intake.
Without seeing the 'shavings', its hard to know but its probably bits of rust from inside the petrol tank. Often they look like coffee grounds. That's why there is a filter there. It needs periodic removal to clean out such debris.
