Having 'long' legs I'm removing the driver's seat from my 57 saloon to move it backwards slightly by using the 'other' two (of four) captive bolts welded to the chassis.
Having removed the bolts I'm not convinced they are the originals as the threads are pretty chewed up - and they won't screw into the other captive nuts (which look unused). I suspect someone has used unf bolts into unc nuts or vice versa.
Can anyone tell me the correct size for the seat bolts so I can obtain the correct ones - and so I can obtain the correct size tap to run down the captive nuts first before installing them?
Thank you.

Sometimes it not what you ask, it's how you ask it....
There's also the issue of which Spanner, for example, a 5/16 BSF uses a 1/4W spanner.....
They didn't make it easy back in the day...
