Yes, it will be interesting to see what you think, Phil. An excellent idea in theory and, if properly designed, should be a truly practical innovation.

Re: Trunnion seals
The seals have arrived and look to be very good. The idea is very workable but as stated in the sales blurb the swivels need to be good condition and the grease not contaminated.
I will report back when fitted.

Phil
Are they 3-D printed?
Any Idea of the longevity?
Looks like he's a member of the Dorset Branch..... are you on here?

Re: Trunnion seals
They are 3D printed and have DMMOC in raised letters.
Longevity? - time will tell.

Re: Trunnion seals
Showing my ignorance here , he lists
Morris Minor Split Trunnion (Lower Trunnion) Dust Seal
and
Morris Minor Split Trunnion Dust Seal
and they are different , I thought they would be the same ?

Re: Trunnion seals
There are two different seals:-
1. The seal between the swivel and trunnion.

2. The seal between the trunnion and the bottom trunnion thrust washer.

Re: Trunnion seals
Yes, they just aren't described very well on EBay, although it is clear that the one seats between the trunnions and the swivel pin (top and bottom) and the other on either side of the lower trunnion, as described by Phil.

Re: Trunnion seals
As regards the seal between the trunnion and the trunnion thrust washer. The Morris Marina factory fitted seal is a much better quality seal than that fitted to the Minor.
The main advantage of the seals listed in my post above is that they can be fitted without dismantling the suspension but if there is any sign of crud the suspension must be dismantled, cleaned, examined and if serviceable rebuilt with new grease and seals.

Re: Trunnion seals
Same here , thought I'd go the further mile and replaced the screws with stainless ( 2.5 x 10 Posi pan head machine screws , hex full nuts and shake-proof washers ) .
All went well .. but... the last one was not a snug fit....it was the only one with tie-wraps on the boots...do they come in undersize? ( the trunnions and uprights ? )

Re: Trunnion seals
The trunnion and swivel seals are not available in under size from factory standard size.
After-market trunnions and swivel seals come in all sorts of styles and shapes and some seals are tight on those trunnions and swivels and some are down right loose. You appear to have removed at least two different styles of trunnion/swivel seals. The bottom left trunnion/swivel seal in the picture above is the correct style i.e. ex factory.
A good move using the stainless steel fastenings
I have just tried the two DMMC seals I have on several NOS BMC trunnions and they fit very well. I have also tried some NOS seals branded MOWOG, MMC and some unbranded NOS seals they all fit as they should. As said the trunnions were all NOS BMC items and not aftermarket items so the sizes of the seal contact surfaces were all consistent with factory spec.

Re: Trunnion seals
Thank you , will investigate later when I've less on... but it seems to me both the trunnion and the upper part of the upright may be undersize ?
First step will be to swap sides with the top seals..
Thanks
