Logging !!

Post by Shropshiremoggie »

With the old board I left myself permanently logged in ( having ticked ‘ remember me ). The new board is logging me out even though I have ticked remember me . I am using a long password - ( from the club ) if this is going to continue can I change my password for something simple !

I don't know what device/browser you are using but you can usually set it so that it remembers your password and you don't have to re-enter it each time.

From the title, I thought that you were talking about extracting timber from a forest :-?

It's interesting that the timeout settings on the new board are exactly the same as on the old board, so there shouldn't be any difference. However, as you are clearly having problems, I will look at it for you. In the meantime, you can always change your password to (almost) whatever you want: Top right corner, click on the dropdown next to your name and select User Control Panel - Profile - Edit Account Settings.

Thanks again for advice and assistance .

The session timeout is set to three hours, exactly as per previous board. However, I have managed to reproduce the timeout at considerably less than that, so you are not alone. I am investigating further, a couple of avenues to explore.

Do yo have "Remember me" ticked on the login page? Allegedly that prevents being logged out. I did have it ticked for the old board, and like you, stayed logged in for days. I have not got it ticked for the new board.so that might be something to try...

Interesting. I seem to have the same problem too. Happily I'd already changed my password to something simple :D

Noted, can you try ticking the "Remember me" on the login page and see if it cures the problem for you as well. Thanks.
