anyone have a specific figure? Cant find anything in the manual. tightened everything up after replacing the springs a while back and checked again today and all were loose (as I was expecting). But how tightly should they be re-tightened ?
Cheers

Re: Axle/leaf spring u bolt torque
I’ve not seen a torque figure for the U bolts, of course there maybe one. However there are two nuts on each thread (4 per U bolt) tighten by feel and lock the bottom nut to the top one. It’s a good idea to tighten equally to ensure there is the same amount of thread protruding from each side and ensuring the U bolt is central

Re: Axle/leaf spring u bolt torque
The nearest equivalent is the Morris Marina 'U' bolts which have a torque of 15 to 18lbf ft.
As above as regards the exposed length of thread in that they must be equal to ensure that the bottom spring plate is kept square to the spring.

Re: Axle/leaf spring u bolt torque
mine are probably a bit tighter than that but they are all wound down (up?) by the same amount.
