I would but not for £200, not for a second hand used box, no matter how good the seller says it was when in use.
Best wishes,
Mike.

The 1275cc MG Midget/Sprite gearbox input shaft should be stamped 22G229.
Unfortunately even if in poor condition 1275cc MG Midget/Sprite gearboxes command premium prices.

I couldn’t see any numbers on the splined shaft in the bell housing
Am I looking in the right place Phil ?

The number should be on the first motion shaft and visible.

It’s on the shaft that you see on picture 4 of your ebay listing.

I have flipped the picture and blown it up, it looks like 22G1(something?)1?
I've attached the blown up section of the picture and the original below.
Perhaps Phil will be able to shed light on this number?
Best wishes,
Mike.

I’m sure he will but the number on the shaft is the important one.

Here is the list of gearbox components as compiled by Islipminor:-
gearbox data 1.jpg
gearbox data 1.jpg (132.31 KiB) Viewed 852 times
The number 22G229 will be stamped on the first motion shaft.
The front cover shown is 22G118.
The first motion shaft stamped number is the all important number.
I do not have a 22G229 shaft but here is a 22G172 shaft (1098cc Sprite/Midget) with the number visible. I had to clean the shaft to clearly see the number. It is located on the first motion shaft just in front of the 22G118 front cover.

Excellent. :D
If you add this picture to your eBay advert it will save anyone asking the question on there.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Here we go!

In my opinion and for what it is worth as a genuine 1275cc Midget box it is a bargain even if you have to totally rebuild it.
