Just started my winter fettling on my 63 4 door and I’m glad I did so many areas to repair.
So far I’ve
• Removed the engine and gearbox.
• Removed everything under the bonnet
• Removed the fuel tank
• Removed the whole of the interior
• Removed the full wiring harness
• Removed the roof lining
• Removed the front and rear screens
• Removed all the paint from under the bonnet, in the boot and the floor of the passenger compartment,
I have bought a roll over jig so when the car goes on it I’ll be removing the axle and front suspension.
I’ve found plenty of old repairs and many new areas that require repair a couple of questions spring to mind what do most of you coat the floor etc of the inside and the boot, the boot had been Waxoyle which marked everything that was put in the boot.
Under the bonnet it will be painted as the outside would be.
And what is the box that is bolted to the under side of the passenger floor I see no reason for it.

I think the "box" you are referring to is the exhaust heat shield. This contains asbestos so should be handled with care

It is a heat shield, it is also a potential rust trap, as I found on Sally.I think the "box" you are referring to is the exhaust heat shield. This contains asbestos so should be handled with care
It was 'handled with care'. After I had drilled out the remaining functional spot welds, it was disposed of.
A replacement section of floor was then welded in. The heat shield will not be replaced, as it's not really necessary, there isn't enough heat generated there to warrant replacing one rust trap with another.
Best wishes,
Mike.

It looks like a long way to go, but I wish you the best on this build.
