WVK 722H
Hi there,
I have seen this for sale, an eye watering price. Does look stunning, however. Is it known to anyone in the club?

Re: WVK 722H
Quite apart from the 'ambitious' price, this ad contains a pet hate of mine I'm afraid, viz:-
concourse
/ˈkɒŋkɔːs/
noun
noun: concourse; plural noun: concourses
1.
a large open area inside or in front of a public building.
"a station concourse"
Similar:
entrance; foyer; lobby; hall; piazza; plaza
2.
formal
a crowd or assembly of people.
"a vast concourse of onlookers"
Concours d'Elegance (Concours d'élégance)
Concours d'Elegance is a term of French origin that means a "competition of elegance" and refers to an event where prestigious vehicles are displayed and judged. It dates back to 17th-century France, where aristocrats paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during summer weekends and holidays."
But, on reflection, I suppose that "concourse Morris Traveller" could merely mean that it spends all its time on display in the above-mentioned "large open area inside or in front of a public building".

Phew, what a relief...............I thought it was just me
This is one of my pet hates too and I have to say, along with many other grammatical errors, that are all too frequently seen in adverts and forums......even classic car magazines! Last month's 'Practical Classics' referred to uprating Marina breaks. Deary me!
There's one regular Fleabay advertiser based in Hampshire. Obviously skilled restorers, as all their vehicles are immaculately presented but their standard 'about us' blurb just makes me cringe! It could easily form the basis of a GCSE English examination question, intended for students to spot and correct as many grammatical errors as possible
I really need a lie down in a dark room now,

Hi,
Go on then, give us a laugh, tell us what they are demanding for this one?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: WVK 722H
No need, I've just spotted it (the garage doors in the background are very distinctive): £29,995.
A song comes to mind...... Dreeeeam, dream, dream, dream..................
I'll leave it at that and not into a rant about greedy investors and speculators (my pet hate) this time......
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: WVK 722H
The car is well known and is one of the best out there. The list of concours prizes the car has won shows that, but the price is ambitious to say the least and I know the dealer paid significantly less for the car than the asking price they have now. That's probably why they have had it for sale for quite a long time now !

Re: WVK 722H
Thanks Phillip, these Travellers are so rare in Australia, but the price is too high, even with the Aussie dollar a bit stronger against the pound. I hope when we can travel again I will return to the UK to find a Traveller to bring back...

Re: WVK 722H
They were never marketed in Australia. Not sure why, we did get saloons, vans, pickups. They all tend to be early models as the Minor was replaced by the Morris Major around 1962. Looks similar to the Riley of that time

BMC / BL missing a trick there then, what a surprise........They were never marketed in Australia. Not sure why, we did get saloons, vans, pickups. They all tend to be early models as the Minor was replaced by the Morris Major around 1962. Looks similar to the Riley of that time
Wonder why the replaced the Minor with the Major, poor sales?
Out of curiosity do you have a picture of a Morris Major that you could post up?
Termites!
I hope they don't specialise in Travellers for Richard's sake.
Best wishes,
Mike.

The Minor assembly lines were changed to Morris 1100 manufacture about 1962.

Re: WVK 722H
Hi folks,
Just thought you might like to know the Traveller WVK722H has arrived safely in Adelaide, Australia and will be enjoying the sunny Adelaide Hills for club runs from now on. Attached is a photo of it arriving at a damp Port Adelaide, and alongside my other car, a 1948 MM, making a small but contrasting fleet of cars from the very start and very end of production.
Regards,
Richard

Re: WVK 722H
Very nice . As you say, a rare car in Australia.
Does it have wider wheels than standard?
