Earth strap

Post by murray33 »

Should there be an earth from the gearbox to body on a 61 mm 948? Can't remember taking one off when removing the engine but wondered if thats why i'm, not getting a spark?
Thanks

There MUST be an earth strap between gearbox,or engine, to chassis
you could fit one from the nearside engine mount tower to the nut
under the exhaust manifold which holds the breather pipe. This is
easier to keep a check on. If you operate the starter motor and
it works normally then, without your earth strap, the choke cable
is probably carrying all the power and gets very hot???
