Did you record cab number?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Sorry - I'm confused. HAve two different green vans been stolen in the same area? If not, which one are we looking out for?

Looks like it, one in Bolton, other Manchester.

Why the 1966 van should have an Austin grill is a mystery itself!

Should always record cab numbers on LCVs - fall's on deaf ears I'm afraid - too late when it's stolen.

Yes, there are two vehicles. They were posted on Facebook and that's all the information I have.

I copied them here to raise awareness.

Thanks,

Good grief! Is someone building a fleet? Sympathies to both owners and I'll keep a look out on t'other side of the Pennines.

I can't see anyone would be driving around in them. What a nasty trick to play on someone.

What they do?
They drive to Holland and buy a registration from this guy:
http://www.marktplaats.nl/verkopers/16249198.html
this person is selling the paperwork only, with a piece of new metal with some numbers in it.
So if you have a stolen car, buy his papers and the car is " legal " again

Yes, found TWO "iffy" ones that "originated" from Holland - a 1962 van with a 1969 cab number and a S2 "chop top" - both had their body numbers in place, so could have been traced IF they were stolen...and IF their details were on my database...

It happens more in the Netherlands, once one of the companies who is selling Morris parts, had a sidevalve MM, but with the chassis number from a '56.
When I called and asked for the original numbers, I got the answer, what you see is what you get...

Some people only think on money, but not on the owners...
