Did the owner record the body/engine number?

Chassis no will do, note as "ST"!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Can't believe the rate at which classics are being stolen! Are they really ending up in pieces on Ebay?

Is it possible to get the withdrawn details from Gumtree to eliminate from police enquiries?

There is sometimes a way to see information and web pages that have been changed, if you copy and paste the link into google search and look for the cached version you may see the google cache as it was and not the current page,
this link says the advert is gone http://www.gumtree.com/p/other-cars/mor ... 1113520017
but this should show as it was http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... clnk&gl=uk
Hope that helps, sorry if i have posted outside of the sites guidelines

I was thinking more along the lines of getting in touch with Gumtree or asking police to do so but Google Cache might be quicker
