Post by stuupnorth »

Hi all
firstly Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year
just have a quick question
my minor is a 1960 with trafficators which have been disconnected and front and rear indicators fitted which all work no prob's but looking to replace the flasher unit(well buy a replacement for spares)reading the posts about the flasher unit they all refer to 3 wires to the unit and mine only uses 2 wires? is this ok?

And does the warning light on the stalk work ? It can be wired to do so with 2 term flasher. But why worry about a replacement - these things are deadly reliable, and it's not exactly something that' s going to leave you stranded at the side of the road........

With two flasher units you can have the indicators and trafficators working. See http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Technical Information Indicator and Trafficator wiring diagram

Normally the middle of the 3 wires is for the light on the end of the indicator stalk or a warning lamp in the speedo.
