Over the past week or so, work has really been ironing out a few small issues like a coolant leak from one of the thermostat housing studs and cleaning / compounding and polishing the paintwork. Roadtesting the car and checking the brake balance and headlamp alignment for mot. Fitting new hubcaps.

MOT was today, inspector was susprised how original it is, esp underneath. It passed no problem. The brake test showed that minor brakes show better results than modern cars. Over here the brake limits are, for the foot brake up to 30% imbalance (mine today was 9% imbalance both front and rear. And the handbrake you are allowed up to 40%, and mine was 0% !!

So well pleased.

I can't believe i nearly have dz a year now. After a rally season attending a few shows and runs in the car, there are a few smallish jobs needing done before the winter hits. Thanks to David McC for tidying up the rear spring hanger repair last friday (which was first carried out last winter), and for adjusting, re adjusting and re adjusting the PSF suspension height and fitting new polybushes to the PSF :D .

Since the weekend the car has been up on 4 stands. All wheels and tyres removed. Wheels have been sent to a local specialist to be sandblasted and powder coated in OEW. Then there will be 5 new bridgestone tyres fitted to them. In the meantime the DSF suspension needs polybushed and both front rebound stops need replaced.

DZ hopefully will be attending the national rally next year as the boat has recently been booked.

Car pictured on our branch regional rally. The rear springs have settled nicely :D[frame]Image[/frame]
