Copper Heater Pipe

Post by Bidz »

Any ideas of another way to attach the copper pipe which runs from the heater return hose to the bottom hose with the take-off bit?

We took it off when removing the head to replace the gasket, and forgot to replace it... I don't want to have to have the head off again, and there's only a few mm of thread left on the top of the studs.

Try a post in the 'wanted' section for one of the pipes that runs parallel to the manifold and uses the manifold studs instead?
Like déjà vu this! ;)

And a genuine Coopers sticker while I'm at it...

I cant find any of the manifold ones - perhaps I'm searching for the wrong thing?

I didn't see any either 'Bidz', but was narrowly outbid by one a few days ago.
May as well go the whole way and get a proper air filter cover to go with the sticker ;)

Or just use a rubber pipe - as on the later Minis. It's a risk to loosen the head nuts - but should be ok if done on a stone cold engine.

 You and your sparkly paint... Your car looks very nice in grey, I sincerely hope it stays that way!
