Nina,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. After 25 years you must feel bereft as it must be like losing one of the family! Sadly our society seems to be contain an ever increasing proportion of sub-human scumbags who don't give a damn how their selfish acts affect others.
While you and I are some 600 miles apart and therefore I am unlikely to see it up here, I will keep my eyes peeled.
I Know that once I get one of my vehicles on the road I shall be paranoid about taking it anywhere and letting it out of my sight!
I hope that you and SPK are reunited soon.

Terribly sorry to hear about the theft.
To help all and sundry determine which anti-theft devices are best to fit, can you tell us what if anything they bypassed please?
i.e. secret switch? disklok? etc.
This would be most useful information.

Ah yes, but I dont want the location of the switch, bypassing a disklok though if fitted would be interesting and of no use to potential perps, as of course they wouldnt know how it was done.

It is open to all, however the information of what was bypassed if anything is already avaliable on this site from the security article and so repeating it here makes no difference anyway especially as most hidden devices are not universally fitted. The only people who would benefit from such information are other Minor owners who wish to do all they can to protect their cars from these thieves and so this information may in fact reduce crime rates of Minors rather than accelerate it.
