I know the original fuel pump for my Minor is a (LP) SU AUA66, but is it possible to use one from a mini which will be an HP version, they seem to be more plentiful, cheaper and generally will be newer!
Looking at the installation drawings in the SU catalogue I can't see any reason why one wouldn't work but would like advise, perhaps someone has tried it?

Re: SU fuel pumps
NO! The Mini one is a 'pusher' pump - designed to work with flooded suction....ie it was mounted below the fuel tank. It will not work well on a Minor where is has to 'suck up' the fuel from the low mounted tank. You could install it low down I suppose - but is it worth the hassle? Of course - it shares many parts with the Minor pump, and very possibly the only difference is in the valving - which could maybe be swapped over. This is complete speculation on my part - I haven't tried it!! If you give it a go - let us know how you get on please.

Re: SU fuel pumps
you could of course fit it next to the tank, the mgbs were fitted that way,and didn,t seem to suffer from the wet, allthough they were fitted inside the battery compartment, but that was open to the elements, you could also easily make it water proof, with a bit of thought.Don't think they have to be below the tank,I think they are regarded as a short suck and long push,oo err missus
