Broken gearboxes, any useful parts?

Post by jaguar68 »

Hi Chaps,

are there any useful parts inside a naff gearbox? I have one completely kn*ckered 1098 gearbox and another that jumps out of forth.

Are they worth dismantling, even just for the experience?

Cheers

Indeed they are - you may be able to make one 'good' one from the two....... The two boxes may have completely different faults - and so by selecting parts it may well work ok! Bit of a gamble - but worth a try if you have the time. keep them separate - and show us some pics once you have them opened up. What was wrong with the 'naff' one?

Hmmm - even so well worth harvesting the parts. 'Judithandrew' on ebay sells all sorts of used Minor gearbox parts at crazy prices......
