after 12months problem free finaly had a break down lol started car this morning with no problems noticed she was low on petrol under a quater of tank so headed off to top up just few yards from petrol station car cut out so i pushed it in to pumps and put petrol in thinking well i must of cut out of petrol so i tryied starting the car it fired up then cut out then tried again and was just turning over not firing up checked under the bonnet could not see anything imparticular but noticed the pump was not ticking so tapped it with a spanner she started ticking and the car started upon turning the key been working fine would the fuel pump have cut out on driving any way the points must of stuck or sumthing but back up and running

You need to clean the points asap or if they are too far gone, replace the points.The usual suppliers will sell a set of points for the SU fuel pump.( e.g. ESM FUL 120 double points set £8.85 ).Back to trouble free motoring again.
