still the easist way is to remove the rotor button. I have had a car "stolen" with this method, they pushed it down the road and around the corner, hot wired it, couldn't start it , flattened the battery trying, all I did was refit the rotor and push started it myself and drove home. The only other thing is I've invested in a steering lock, which makes it harder to get down the road.

It's something I've thought about a lot for when Hebe is restored. I'm contemplating a smoothed out engine bay with all the electrics accsessable inside... Or a battery isolation switch if I put my battery somewhere "unconventional"

Blimey thats a lot of work when removing the rotor arm would do the same thing.I'm contemplating a smoothed out engine bay with all the electrics accsessable inside... Or a battery isolation switch if I put my battery somewhere "unconventional"

Don't scare me. I've got to pick up my in-laws at the airport on Tuesday in "Hebe Jebe Cabs" as my father in law says...

My take on this is that any electrical device, however complicated if it's in the public domain then as turbominor has demonstrated.. anyone with a little knowledge can start a minor.
On my landrover (a petrol/LPG one) there is a Petrol isolator solenoid. It has the advantage of having a manual screw to override the solenoid if for some reason the solenoid will not open.
A valve like this could be installed under the car and the switch could be secreted anywhere ..
