Standard lucas ignition coil vs lucas sport coil

Hi there can anybody tell me what the difference between the the standard coils and the sports ones would the sports one make any differance to a standard 1098 running on standard points or is all a load off rubbish because I know lucas isnt the same as it used to be with the quality of the parts.

Hello Alessandro,

you won't notice any difference if you fitted a sports coil, they can be beneficial on high performance engines that put a lot of pressure on the spark plugs.

Exactly! Don't waste your money..... A good old original coil will last 'for ever' if not externally damaged - or left with current flowing through with the engine not running. In other words - never leave the car with the Ign ON and engine not running.......
