Been meaning to come over for a couple of years now but 'events' have always managed to scupper my plans. Spoke to a few guys from the branch at the national last weekend so just counting the days now and really looking forward to the trip. I come over from Cairnryan to Larne on 22nd and am staying with friends near Hillsborough until 27th so hoping to get out and about a bit after the rally to see as much as we can :-)

Good stuff! Yes going to fit an extra fuse in there under the dash just in case :P Regional should be good. Looks to be a good jaunt up the coast, and as always a good dinner at the end! :)

The wiring loom went back in today, heres proof that Stevey did some of the work.........[frame]Image[/frame]

All electrical bits now working as they should with only the additional indicators to fit, a couple of seat were fitted and we had a 4 mile road run![frame]Image[/frame]

The radiator has developed a leak at the bottom hose so this will have to be sorted and a wee leak at the gearbox but otherwise running well if slowly, but it will take a few miles to run in the rebuilt engine. Steering is also quite tight but it did have new trunnions so it will get another greasing very soon.[frame]Image[/frame]
And lastly Stevey looking chuffed!! Ignore the chrome popping out of the rubber, Ive threatened to put a great big self tapper through it, but I will use a chrome one :o :o :o

That`s looking really, really good, looking forward to seeing the finished set of photos. I love looking at the various stages of a project, those pictures are worth their weight in gold, but the finished article is the the one that gives the inspiration to go on and do it :)

Cheers

Thanks guys. Ive really got no further with it apart from driving it lots!!!! After the tappets were reset and the carpets re installed, shes a bit quieter now :P Interior really needs sorting properly but ill leave that for now. Had a bit of an issue with the front and rear screens. When they got wet the sealant leaked out over the body in a horrible black sticky mess. Took the car to see a mate a few weekends ago and it thumped it down. Not a leak inside, but the sealant ran all over the outside to the point were the windscreen wipers wouldnt move! Very annoying. It was 3M stuff we had used so not cheap stuff. Spent 2 days cleaning it all off and taking the rear window out to re seal it with new stuff. Hopefully that will be it!

Next big run is our Regional Run next weekend so hopefully itll be ok.

well heres a good one for you. a fuel gauge that smokes - gets really hot and smokes! any ideas chaps? thought it was the panel lights shorting or something but not that. (remember early dash model here) just disconneted it at present with the wires taped up but its very annoying.

Well it seems my gauge was at fault. the windings inside had broken down and heated up to the point of burning!!!!!! replaced at present. so all good again... at present :D[frame]Image[/frame]

nah, she nice done though. Retourqued the cylinder head and redid the tappets and an oil change. Shes running well, but that doesnt stop it leaving her mark when she stops :P
