Can't say I noticed the earthquake but I think it was more to the west coast of Scotland I am just waiting for the Tsunami to reach us.

There are a number of products on the market that repair ( not always permanently) leaking water jackets.
These products can work really well (and may or may not cause secondary serious problems in some cases) but my preference is to fix the cause not alleviate the symptom!

As for

blown

headgaskets - this stuff won't cure it. If the headgasket has a minor water leak, this stuff might stop the leak - but if it is leaking to a cylinder it probably wont.
As far as i'm aware, a blown headgasket means loss of cylinder pressure - i.e. a leak from the cylinder (e.g. between cylinders or between cylinder and somewhere else)

K seal is another - and it actually has quite a good reputation

Some of these things do work (obviously not between the bores though) - but I would consider them to be a "get me home" rather than permenant fix

I've recently used one of the other well known brands (didn't have any K-Seal at the time) but only out of desperation! Despite replacing the usual and some unusual parts my daily was still loosing anything from 2 litres of water a week to 2 litres a day - After the headgasket change didn't cure it I gave up and stuck some stuff in the water, and it's been fine for a month so far!
It was costing me a fortune in antifreeze despite only using 4:1, so the gunge has more than paid for itself.
