As a matter of interest, how much is the car lowered? The stance looks spot on.chrisryder wrote:[so i lowered her when i did some other work to her:

the small wheels still make it look low, when i get new tyres they'll be the right size and she'll look even lower.
since lowering it tho, it feels far less comfortable, but that's the price of looking good

This is an old picture I've just found my mate's are trying to decide whether to fold up the ground sheet or cover the pick up, to keep off the rain and the chap sitting round the camp fire is sure there's some more chilli in that pan. [frame][/frame]

i've lowered it 1.5 inches i think! got lowering blocks on the back and lowered one spline on the front. but that is only 1.5 inches lower than in was, not from standard! i'd take MartinB's advice and look at the wheel centres relative to the sills for the true height.twincamman wrote:As a matter of interest, how much is the car lowered? the wheels on there are a bit smaller than standard, they're 185/60 R14's. i think they need to be 185/70 or even 80 to be the right diameter. so the height of the wheels in the arches is a bit misleading!

Actually, 185/60s aren't that much smaller than stock. They are equivalent in diameter to 135x14 full profile, i.e. one size lower than the stock 145x14s.
185/65x14 will give you the same diameter as stock.

hmm... maybe there's another reason my speedo is 10% out! the diff is definately a 4.22 and i'm pretty sure the speedo drive is the right one!
i am still planning on going bigger when they need replacing as she currently accelerates really quickly but then runs out of puff quite quick! bigger will look lower too

Unbelievable!!! This van was for sale recently, looking slightly worse for wear in a field with no MOT.

Re: Bit of fun: post pics of your fave modded moggy's
The car has taken a bit of a back seat recently GAS, what with other things to do. I will get back on it though and update my thread as soon as. In the meantime here are a few more beauties.....
I like this a lot. Think it must have been a traveller and looks like it's running Marina front discs judging front the front wheels. The rears look like banded wheels Morris Oxford fornt grill? Frenched front lights.
[frame][/frame]
Note: 4 overriders up front and rather extended rear arches. Oh and a rather large V8.
[frame][/frame]
If you ever wanted a mini truck then this is for you. These two are very similar but I think rear engine wins it for me
