Tredegar House Vintage Car Rally - Sunday 13 June 2010.
I'm not sure if this one has surfaced on here? See http://www.tredegarhouserally.co.uk/en/1/vcrhome.html
Is anyone going? I have entered but in the MGB GT V8 for a quiet life (I know if I entered the Traveller I'd have far more people asking questions about it!!!). It's my silver jubilee in that it's 25 years since I first attended (Not my 25th attendance) and the first time I haven't attended in my faithful and much cherished MG Midget (I just thought I should bring a different car for a change).
For those who have never been, this event really is an institution, though due to the Ryder Cup being held in September, it has been brought forward from that slot.

Over the past few years I have been unable to get to it. this year I haven't received an entry form but as i have nothing going on I might try and get in.
If anybody else is unable to attend and have already booked I am on the lookout for an entry number.
Thanks.
It's Abergavenny this Sunday /Monday.

Hi GDL
Sorry I missed you at Pencoed.
I was with my 4 year old boy which means if I wasnt with the mog when you popped over to say hello, I was in one of two places, either buying him yet another toy car on one of the autojumble stands, or I was watching him go around one of the little merry-go-rounds.
Hope to see you at Tredegar though.
I missed the abergavenny show, but I hope to go next year. My dad went as a visitor to abergavenny and hes taken loads of photos for me to look at. It looks a great show.

Well Ive polished kingpin up, and the MX5 has come back from the bodyshop, looking better than it did before her bump. Im defo going Im number 165 and the wife is number 300 in the MX5 which should with any luck be parked next to me, if the marshalls let us.
Im hoping to arrive there earlier this year, due to the half hour long stop start queues I sat in last year trying to get in. The pickup was suffering from terrible fuel vapourisation and Im hoping the removal of my fuel filter has solved it.
Hope to see you all tomorrow.
Regards

Spotted both Santa and Pikey at the show <: sadly had to leave rose in the car park. I was there near the end of the day with an obnoxious jack russell, so apologies for being shy and not coming over.

Re: Tredegar House Vintage Car Rally - Sunday 13 June 2010.
There’s no such thing as an “Obnoxious Jack Russell” . I said hello to a few dogs yesterday and I don’t mean ones with four wheels.
I had a nice trip down and joined some friends, so we drove down in a convoy containing two MGBs, my V8 version and a Lotus Elan Sprint. A Spitfire and TR7 tagged along at Newbridge, whilst another MGB and a Morgan appeared nearer Newport. As we were early, we had a fairly quick passage into Tredegar House but I don’t mind a brief wait in a queue of classic cars .
The day itself was very enjoyable. It’s 25 years since my first Tredegar Park and my first when I didn’t take the Midget (I wasn’t very old when I went to my first event and neither was the Midget, which was a sort of premature classic due to the closure of the MG factory in 1979). I never thought I’d see myself take a picture of a Datsun 120A but my grandfather’s penultimate car was a 1977 model and I haven’t seen one like it for years.
I saw a very nice 1960 Minor four door saloon (Not in the MMOC enclosure), which had original looking leather seats in very nice shape. Here is a picture of it.

The weather had to intervene as I was leaving . It was a pity it hadn’t held off for another two hours but all in all a very enjoyable day. Sadly its now fifteen months to the next Tredegar Park .

So close yet so far, seen your van, but still no you!! - i was even in the same line as you, just up by the red escort, you must have seen the car
Didn't see you Santa during the day, however, seen you driving/well stuck in the jam trying to get out

You must not have met her then! She's wonderful off the lead - then the second she's clipped to it, she turns into the devil, snapping and straining at every single dog - she even had a shot at a Rottweiler! Unfortunately the signs and wardens said we had to keep her tied, so tied she had to stay.Blaketon wrote:There’s no such thing as an “Obnoxious Jack Russell” .

I guess I would have been a bit choked if I'd had to walk about with a collar around my neck, with a lead attached to it .

Re: Tredegar House Vintage Car Rally - Sunday 13 June 2010.
I failed to receive my entry form so had to arrive at the tradesman s enterance. Nr the regestion tent where they gave out the placques. As I was again too busy to speak to many of you I did managed to get a ver quick look around the grounds. I managed to seek out my old 1959 saloon that has been restored by the owner of my "Panda".
I had enjoyed Tredegar House this year but if my entry form fails to come next year I don't think I will be there next time. I was stung by the asking price of late entry fee of £20. I know it's for a good cause but that's too steep.
Sorry Chalsea I didn't see you.
