What are the pitfalls in replacing perished window seals on a two door (back, front and two back quarter lights)? Also what are the chances historically with Minors of exposing rusty metalwork under the seals, making it an awkward and expensive exercise?
Can anyone help?
Tony

Re: Replacing the window seals
This looks like a job for someone with professional experience then, I expect there is also a chance of breakages due to the glass being old and fragile.

Re: Replacing the window seals
i changed my front windscreen only took me and my dad an hour but that was due to messing about with the stainless strip around the window which we could not get in, (ive now got the chrome strip so much easier took 20 mins)
freshly painted 1275cc anda very loud big bore exhaust
Re: Replacing the window seals
The front screen original chrome stainless strip can only be used with the original seals. The replacement seals available today need the plastic chrome "filler" insert.....
Front screen goes in from the outside.
Rear screen goes in from the inside.
Side screens go in from the outside and there are small spacers to take up slack and for adjustmant that run up the B Pillar....
