How to post a photo
Something that is frequently asked on the messageboard is how to post a photo, so I thought I'd make this a 'sticky'
How to upload a photo:
When posting a message you'll see an 'upload picture' box at the bottom left of the text box.
Click on the 'browse' button and find the photo on your pc that you wish to upload.
Click the 'preview' button to check that your photo has uploaded.
Press 'submit' and hopefully we'll all be able to see your photo
To upload more than one photo at a time just follow the above procedure and click on the 'preview' button every time you wish to upload a new photo then 'submit' when all the photos are loaded.
The forum automatically resizes photos to a maximum of 640 x 480 but if your photo will still not load (or you just get a blank screen) it is probably because it is too big so try reducing the size of your photos on your pc before posting.

Re: How to post a photo
Just to add, if you need to resize a photo it can be done very easily in MS Paint (Load The image, click tools from the option above, then stretch / skew, and set stretch to say 50% - this will reduce the image to 50% of its original size) Make sure that you save the image before trying to upload again though.
Or if you have a Mac running OS 10.5 (Leopard) or newer, you can resize them using the included Preview application.
Finder->Applications->Preview
Open the photo you want to resize.
Tools->Adjust Size...
Select 640x480 from the Fit Into menu.
OK.
File->Save As...
Enter a different filename (so you don't overwrite the original).
OK.

Re: How to post a photo
I don't see 'upload picture' box in the text box. Has the process changed in the past few years?
Re: How to post a photo
It's changed in the last few weeks, with the new messageboard. There is no longer an 'upload picture box' - you need to add a picture as an attachment. Apparently the following works:David W. wrote: Has the process changed in the past few years?
When posting a message click on the 'attachments' tab below the text box.
Then click on 'add files'. You should then be able to attach a photo to your message but only if it isn't too big. I am still waiting for the site admin to get back to me to let me know the maximum size but try reducing the size of your photos if you have trouble attaching them.

Yes has changed lately, if you go to the bottom of your reply it should say, options and attachments. Click on attachments and choose your file, it does have to be a certain size though. I resize mine on Microsoft Picture manager which comes up when I right click on the picture I want to upload.

Re: How to post a photo
So, of all the attempts above, only the diddy one at 123KB was a success, (for myself) repeated here twice to see if it is a total attachment quota or an individual picture quota. End result is it uploaded the 2 without a problem, a total of 246kb thus it is an individual file limitation of somewhere between 123kb and 140 kb (for myself)

Re: How to post a photo
The signature pic on my profile has these symbols to each side of the number
[ sig ] yourpic [/sig] this one with no spaces, if I leave spaces it puts the square as above
Perhaps worth a try?
