Looks an interesting and unusual police car - being black rather than blue.

Re: Cheshire police car on ebay
The Cheshire Constabulary used Morris Minor 2 door saloons prior to about 1965. They were black and fitted with an illuminated box Police sign on the roof (there was no stop sign) They were not fitted with radio, except two used on remote detached beats. Main use was as general purpose/supervision cars and on residential detached beats. I understand that later they used Minor saloons, and Travellers in blue and white as unit beat police vehicles. The Force does have a museum at Warrington which has a collection of photographs for the historically inclined.
