deluxe spec
My 1968 minor 4 door is a deluxe spec with a d at the end of the chassis number. What did the deluxe spec add? chrome door tops? were all 4 doors deluxe spec or could you get a base model?

Depends on the age of your car, mine is a standard '58 saloon so has a single sun visor, no overriders and no fresh air intake on the heater. By '68 I thought twin sun visors were standard, overriders were a delux fitting not sure about the fresh air intake pipe on the heater. Up until recently I thought they were fitted as standard but Cam's car has a factory fitted blanking plate so it may still have been an option.
Peter Gisby.

It is all listed quite clearly in Ray's book. I don't have it with me now and as it varied over the years it would be too risky for me to try and guess / remember right now.
Just to clarify the points above - Chrome door tops were not any part of delux spec they were just standard fit to 4 doors (they are stainless steel anyway not chrome). Over riders were delux spec. Heater was an option on normal cars and standard on delux upto 1962 (Minor 1000) when it became standard on all vehicles (hence the intro of the big hole in the bulkhead for the fresh air intake). This is from memory and any more detail would have to be checked in the book later.....
