Pick-up Stolen from Essex 28/04/09

Post by Gloria1098 »

1967 Beige Morris Minor pick up Registration XNO282F was stolen from near Brentwood in Essex today sometime between 6am and 5pm.

Tidy but well used one of his more unique features was the floor of the body which was a panel of aluminium section as used in aircraft.

'Percy' was a milestone birthday present so his disappearance is particularly upsetting.

If you see or hear anything of him we'd appreciate the information.

Thank-you.

We actually think he was taken this afternoon sometime. He wasn't behaving very well so can only hope he decides to play up before he gets too far from home...

We've had a drive round the local roads and asked neighbours etc but no news yet.

Check any local garages, the yards you can't see around the back. The car may not be far away, a moggy pickup would be too noticable on the road.

Thanks

Will do, hadn't thought of that. We've tried local car parks.

Trying to imagine what the motive might have been.

If you know of any lock up garages locally, keep an eye here too. Check pub car parks, they have been known to appear here... quicker still ring them up to see if one has appeared.

It's definitely worth looking around locally, I did this when I had a car stolen (on police advice) and it wasn't very far away at all. 3 or 4 "blocks" I guess.
Especially if it's been playing up.
It might take quite a long time before people realise it's been "dumped"
Good luck!

And when you do get it back (think positive) be sure to fit a secret fuel pump switch - which will stop it wandering away again!

Gruesome though it may seem, try the local breakers. Police say anything helpful? Just keep cruising the area. Any local wasteland?
Local papers? Reward? Any local car clubs that you might want to circulate details to?

All the very best of luck!

Where I have my lock up, there was a Subaru that looked dumped. Door unlocked and steering lock broken. It was parked outside my Chevy owning mates garage and he wasn't happy. After 2 days he asked his mate over to check it out and help him move it. The mate recognised the reg number and popped over to the owner who lived 6 houses down the road. The car had been taken from his mothers house, just 2 minutes down the road in the opposite direction (she was away at the time). The car suffered minimal damage and was quickly collected by it's owner. Things do work out.

It may be a coincidence but there was a beigish coloured pickup parked outside Pierros in Ingatestone this afternoon.
