How do I register my Ex RAF Traveller with the DVLA

Post by Troysouth »

I have recently bought an ex RAF traveller. Unfortunately there is no documentation with the vehicle.
There is a plate riveted to the glove box lid with the chassis No. Contract No. Nato Code No. etc.

The DVLA told me that I would need proof of the year of manufacture or they will have to issue me with a Q plate, which I would prefer not to have.
How can I get proof of the true year of Manufacture?

Manufacture details can be purchased from BMIHT (British Motor Industry Heritage Trust) at gaydon. However make sure you give them the correct num, bers to work on first!

DVLA will usually request an 'approved' appliation (mandatory for V765 but not neccessarly mandatory for a "first registration" process). The MMOC is on the list to approve the paperwork - Contact details for Rob Thomason can be found in the club magazine.
