7 days left on the MOT

Post by TerryG »

with 7 days to go and an impending faliure I am taking my mog up to staffordshire and putting it away until funds allow.
This could be interesting in a car that has done 385 miles in 3 years! (most of them to the MOT station and back!)
I have a spare rotor arm, dizzy cap, plugs, leads plenty of water and a boot full of tools that will hopefully ensure i arrive without the aid of a flatbed.
I can't think of anything else obvious i should bring but if i have missed something essential could someone remind me :)
Anyway, the reason for the long drive is i will need both rear spring hangers, the back section of both inner wheel arches, a boot floor and a boot aperture panel. I have priced up the panels on ESM's web site and come up with about £180 worth of parts. does anybody have an idea of how much it would cost to have someone cut out the rot and fit these parts properly? Other than the back end the car is quite pretty.ImageImageImage

Terry,

Garage prices vary so it's difficult to say how much the work will cost. I use the Unipart Car Centre 82 - 92 Vallentin Road, Walthamstow E17 (0208 520 1666) for my welding / MOT work as they do a good job and are reasonably priced. As they're local to you it might be worth taking your car there for an estimate before the MOT runs out so that you can at least get an idea of the cost.
