Split screen window fitting

Post by winger300 »

Perhaps this is well know, but i found out today that fitting the windscreen is done with the glass and rubber assembled away from the car, and brought inside, using a cord around the screen to pull the rubber over the aperture to the outside of the car.

Finally the chrome can be re-inserted and centre pillar rubber and chrome put back in place.

I've done this job a few times but pulled the cord from the inside, as far as I know this is the correct way on a one piece screen, but yours sounds like a split screen so may well be done differently!
