interior light wiring

can any one tell me the correct way to wire the interior light
need to know colours and what terminal they go on in the light switch

There should be 3 wires a purple one which is a permanent live, a black one that is a permanent earth & a brown/black one that is a switched earth (to the door switches). The live should go to the terminal that goes to the center of the bulb the switch earth should go on the terminal thats connected to the main lamp body & the permanent earth should go to the remaining terminal thats part of the switch contact on the light assembly
If its an early one without door switches will just have 2 wires a live & earth.
