A clean up and some fresh grease in the assembly might help

Check if there is a return spring on the clutch mechanism - that should hold it back away from the rotating clutch - and no rattle. Good news is - MGF wheels will fit your Marina saloon (not van) hubs.

Clutch pedal rattle can be the pedal shaft bushes, the relay shaft bushes at either end, worn linkage plates, or weak/broken return spring.

If you want to fit modern alloys to the Marina Hubs, you will need to have the studs removed, the stud holes then get plug welded and machined flat, then the hubs are drilled and tapped for a 100mm PCD.
