Anyone heard of a car with leather body panels?

Post by Orkney »

not a Mog i dont think anyway.
Judges reappearance reminded me (maybe he should change his username to brigadoon 8) )
Was chatting to one of the vintage buffers the other day - says you know whathisname - he's got a vintage car with leather bodywork panels.

So anyone heard of such a thing ? I'm going to find out more but google hasnt come up with anything. Thing is it does ring a bell so until i see it for myself not going to discount it.

Yes I am sure I have seen a variety of fabric bodied cars over the years from the pre war era you could try something like

or

A friend of mine has an Austin 7 with a French coach build body, which has leather and cloth panel work over timber frames. :o

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

What I find more impressive than the leather ones was the old Bugattis with the wicker body, now they look interesting!

No that's fabric like a lot of 20s/30s cars, it is quite thin like vinyl.
