Blue-prints for the headlining?????

Post by an_avenger »

Hello - I have asked my friend if he can make me a new headlining (YES - a new....make....and headlining in one sentence. I have a few designs I wish to incorporate on the lining and want to know If anyone knows the exact design and dimentions for a 2dr 1969 saloon headlining. I want to know before I rip mine to shreds, I'm also considering re-lining the crushable sun-visors. But if anyone can help gives us a shout

If your friend feels like making one with a zip in it for another 1969 2 door saloon, let me know :D Newton Commercial make headlining so they might be able to help with exact measurements.

Headlining

Nothing to do with newspapers or hats

It's the material covering the roof inside the car usually grey or beige.

Newton commercial do headlinings for every Minor type, except the MM (series 1) saloon. Which of course is what I need!! So keep us updated as to the progress, as you might be on to something here!

Apparently the MMs have a 'plywood type' headlining instead of the hooped linings that later cars have.

I don't know personally as I have not taken mine out yet, but that's what the Newton Commercial catalogue says.
