Wish me luck

Post by Pyoor_Kate »

Rebecca's off up to JLH for a veritable cornucopia of remedial works, hopefully she'll be back on the road with an MOT which is worth more than the paper it's printed on soon...

...but to get to JLH is a 120 mile trip, and Rebecca's furthest journey in the last year was the 3 miles to Sainsburys and back yesterday (and that's only the second time she's been started in a year).

So, wish me luck for today, eh? :)

I'm sure you won't need it; 120 miles is a mere stroll in the park. :D

Good Luck!
Grease your nipples and tighten your brakes. :D

120 miles is nothing, she'll sail it.

Keep us posted with pics and whatnot, always nice to see the pros do things. 8)

Well, mostly it's getting modern shocks at the back. The milage I do and the speed bumps around here kill the lever arm dampers at the back pretty quickly.

And getting the engine sorted... so she runs less like a bag of autojumble spanners in a spin drier.

No problem, just remember to take a knife and fork and a tow rope and you will be able to cope with anything!

Good luck Rebecca!

While you're having your rear end looked at, Kate will be down the pub for lunch!

Seriously - the Pub's recommended... (so's JLH!)

My only problem coming back from JLH was the fuel pump (typical SU problems)

Well, she made it. Sounded awful by the end of the journey, but clattering and firing on a staggering 3 of four cylinders we pulled in to JLH.

I'd like to thank JLH for his hospitality, and for the chance to look at some shiny minors (and an acid dipped one :) ), and also for the lift to the station (I did indeed make my train :) )

Mini Rantette:

Some of you know who restored my mog, and if you search this board then you'll find the answer. It appears that when they Waxoyled the new floor panels they skipped a teensy weensy stage, the whole 'painting' bit. So one of the 5 year old floor panels needs work, and oooh am I annoyed.

Thanks to Jonathon my beloved Minor won't be taken to Canada in a state of unpreparedness, but will instead be restored somewhat more thoroughly... but still. Grr.

Aye, and after having seen the photos Kate has up on her website of the holes which really shouldn't be there I'm not going anywhere near said restorer.
