when i try and search for spares it says

you do not have the required permission to read this topic within this forum

why is this when i am a member

Is this when you are attempting to access the members area? If so, have you clicked on the "confirm your membership here" link and entered your details? Unless you do so you won't get access to the members area as it does not automatically know that you are a member.

I have just installed Firefox after getting very annoyed with :evil: IE. now it won't automatically log me on? any ideas on why it happens and how to solve this problem

I suspect it may be something to do with how it handles cookies or how the site is configured.
I have a link to the login page, and Firefox set to remember my login details, this works fine for me anyway.

If you are on a page you would like quick access to, then drag the little picture before the address and drop it on the line below.
This will create a button to take you straight there.
