The Borrowers

Post by Shmickle »

Is it me? Or are all the cars in the film 'The Borrowers' Morris Minors, no, I haven't been taking LSD, there is even a Morris Minor Limosene (sp?). I think. Can anybody verify this.

Yup.

All the cars / vans / pickups &c used in "The Borrowers" (the one with John Goodman) are Minors. They were used because they are "typically British", which seems a fair point.
Happy Minoring!

Hi,

Just in case you are interested, the Mog limo in question is the property of the "Cars of the Stars" museum in Keswick, Cumbria. (see www.carsofthestars.com for details or the edition of Practical Classics where they took the Morris Marina "Generally" up to the Lakes) . They also own one of the Dodge Vipers that was used for the Dukes of Hazzard (A big block V8 Model) the Ford Anglia used in the Harry Potter film, K.I.T.T., and a DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Dodge Viper in the Dukes of Hazzard?? I have not seen that one! Was there an early Viper then? Unless you are thinking of the General Lee which was (and still is) a 1969 Dodge Charger RT.

Well, to coin a phrase.... whoops!
Thanks for that, Cam. Pooed up spectacularly there. I meant Charger, so why did I put viper, I wonder? I couldn't really see a viper standing up to what they put the chargers through!!

That mog limo isnt a minor its an oxford and cars of the stars were selling it some time ago But it looked pretty scaby having been left outside and the conversion probably wasnt up to much as it was for film work. Best biuld your own as limos are all about individuality.
