4 x 4 Minors !

FrankM83 has started a thread about a 4 door Minor so in the same vein here's my silly thoughts.
I've got my Jeep CJ5 project at home ready to prepare for putting on eBay due to shortage of space since loosing the place where it was previously stored.
It's sitting in the drive next to my Minor so I've just been out with a tape measure
The Minor wheelbase is a little longer (approx 87" compared to 83") but width is same.
My Jeep is the traditional post WWII type and not the later super wide axles and tyres models you get today.
When ever I've seen pictures of other peoples Minor 4x4's they always seem to end up with extended wheel arches due to the width of axles.
Like I say I'm selling the Jeep and have no intention of doing anything with it but the idea of mounting a Minor body is intriguing.
A quick thought is I'd fancy a Traveller and if a 4 door front used with standard Traveller back then that would account for the difference in wheelbase.
Using a Jeep chassis would also mean no SVA.

I must remember to ask the doctor to increase my medication

HI Paul, in Malta there's a traveller made into a 4x4, I've never seen it to be honest but lot of people mention it to me, I beleive they said it's mounted on a Maruti Gypsy/ Suzuki Samurai chassis and powered by a toyota diesel engine also I was told the top part of the traveller rear section has been cut away making it a traveller pick - up

I did toy with the idea when I did the PDC - I could have got a Sujuki SJ running chassis. However i decided it was too much to do in 5 months.
Having replaced half the shell, the engine, gearbox, diff, brakes, rack, heater, the interior and dash on the Minor - the 4wd project might have been the easier option!

A mate of mine's just finished a 4x4 Escort.
Its a mk4 shell sat on a lengthened Sportrak chassis, lengthened prop the lot.
He even had to raise up the escort floor by a few inches for space. With the carpets trimmed to match so you'd never know!

I want him to take it to an RS enthusiasts show - just to see their faces when they realise he cannibalised a mint RS Turbo shell for the job. (ok, perhaps that's a bit evil)

I have a Toyota Corrolla 1.6 16v DOHC 4wd lying around......i wonder if that would be any good for a 4wd mog conversion?
