My Ex MOD Traveller

Post by landyboy »

I thought I'd post some pics of my Ex-MOD Morris Traveller:

I bought it about 3 years ago for £750 Tax&Tested to refurbish. It was built in 1970, it served with the Royal Artillery, Corps Of Transport, Royal Corps Of Logistics and Royal Engineers, its still in its Bronze Green paint scheme.

The engine runs well and the gearbox is fine, brakes ok, it came with most of is paper history, most of the wood work is good tho some woodwork needs attention but have replacement parts, bodywork is good but wings need replacing.

I'm looking into having Charles Ware carry out some work to it as I havent used it since I purchaced it due to all my other military vehicle reciving my attention. A small bit of welding, full external refurb (apart from 99% of the wood), full underbody protection and general maintinance/service. The interiour is fine as are both sets of doors/roof and electrics.

Once its done it'll do about 30-40 shows a year plus the occasional trips to work etc.
If anyone is interested I could make this a restoration diary so show the progress etc?

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Thanks.

Tyler Binge.

that would be great! Certainly if you could point out the special MOD features in those cars.

Here are some pics of as it is now.
The differencesfrom a civi version are: no carpet, black interiour trim, fire extinguisher, silver wheels and a MOD data plate, and if the engine was overhauled whilst in service they would paint the engine Duck Egg Blue.
