Wiring trafficators and flashers

Post by davidlister »

I am in the process of refurbishing my '57 1000 (with some components of Series 11 vintage, e.g., radiator) and would like to retain the working trafficators but add flasher units which can make use of the dual filament side light unit (used on some 948 cars) and a rear unit which combines stop, rear and flasher. Can I simply take a new wire from the indicator stalk which will carry a flasher unit and the wiring for the indicator lamps? Doing this should allow the trafficators to operate as usual and the flashers intermittently as required.

I am also fitting a new wiring loom and recall an article about the process but cannot remember when it was published in the journal. Any thoughts?
