the colour of the sidevalve sump

Post by Onne »

Hello all!

I have managed to get a perfect sidevalve sump! My question now, what colour should it be? It is aluminium. Should I have it like that(bare aluminium) or should it be in the engine colour (which will be a lightish grey blue)

Thanks in advance

The sump should be engine colour. Over the years the paint was often lost, leading people to believe it was always plain aluminium.

Personally,I prefer the sump in polished aluminium. It gives me something to look at whilst under the car!Something I do a lot of.Seriously,Judge is right. When I purchased my car,the sump was engine coloured. It had been off the road for approx 25 yrs.All the best,John.
Power to your Pistons,Johnnydoome.
