While the car is away at the bodyshop.

I have started on the seats. Actually it was very easy and the manufactuer was happy to give me advice.

On the old seat there was a clip to hold the seat belt so that it doesn't fall off your shoulder. (see pic below) If any one wants these please PM me.

and here is my faithfull helper!

This is the clip if anyone is interested. I have a pair. Its funny, but they were on the inside corner of the back of the seat so the belt must have come over the drivers left hand shoulder.

If the old covers are any use to anyone let me know The other seats are in the same sort of condition. They are leather and could, I guess, be repaired.

I have just order a hundred pounds of rubber. screen rubbers four lots of door window guides and rubbers a set of touch glass seals and a few other bits and pieces.
Actually I'm starting to get excited - the end is in view. ( no comments about the train coming the other way please.) I was beginning to feel it would never end until Onne came over - a short drive in his MM made all the difference.

I fitted the door window tops and the windscreen over the week end between trips to Tescos etc.
Today I fitted the roof lining! I thought that was supposed to be a tricky job

Tomorrow the door handles and locks and the boot lid and bonnet and and and...........

Here as promised a few sneaky pics of progress so far.

If things go to plan (do they ever?) then It's off for the MOT 1st week in June.

It won't be finished but MOTable by then I hope.

Roger I'm insanely jelous! Nice one, I'm looking forward to seeing Sophie again, it's been a while since you and I first saw her and she has definately changed since then.

my wife and I are going to do our upholstery in our morrie can you tell me how much vinyl does it take as we;d like to get it all in one go in case of colour changes due to different batches. thanks in anticipation,

If you're thinking about making them yourselves it takes about 9 1/2 metres - depending on whether you want to do it all the same colour. I found that this amount recovered all seats, door cards, scuttle panels and all the little bits between doors and around back seats - I was doing a 4 dr car - and allowed for the odd boob if you cut it the wrong way!

If your going to use a machine use a fairly large needle and a medium length stitch and polyester thread.

No I cheated on that bit. Theres a good firm in Rubery, West Midlands called Autotrim who were brilliant. I measured up how many metres I needed and what colour (you could send them a piece of vinyl to match or choose a contrast) 10two1 4 five 3 75one 8 will get them.
